Mumbai, March 4 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which leads the ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, has announced four candidates of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the upcoming biennial Rajya Sabha elections from the state.
The party has nominated union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, senior BJP leader and former Maharashtra BJP president Vinod Tawde, BJP leader Maya Chintamani Evenate and Ramrao Wadkule.
Ramdas Athawale heads the Republican Party of India (Athawale), an ally of the NDA. Vinod Tawde currently serves as a national general secretary of the BJP after previously leading the party in Maharashtra.
