Kolkata, April 24 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said the Trinamool Congress did very well in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls and would retain power in the state, while prophesying that the BJP leaders will leave once the election results start pouring in on May 4.
Addressing an election meeting at Jagatballavpur in Howrah district, Banerjee accused union Home Miinister Amit Shah of hatching a plan to stop people from voting in the second and final phase of the elections on April 29.
"Having sensed defeat, Amit Shah today held a meeting with the senior officials of administration and will try to stop people from casting their vote on April 29," she said.
