Shimla, April 5 -- Senior BJP leader and MLA Randhir Sharma on Sunday alleged that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh was forced to order a probe into the alleged benami property linked to the Chester Hill case due to sustained pressure from his party.
Reacting to the government's decision to initiate an investigation, Sharma said that the move was not a result of the Congress government's will but the outcome of persistent efforts by the BJP to raise the issue and expose alleged irregularities.
He claimed that the BJP had repeatedly highlighted the matter and cornered the government with facts, compelling it to order an inquiry.
