Hyderabad, March 22 -- BJP on Sunday raised serious concerns over the proposed Musi River rejuvenation project, questioning its feasibility, cost estimates, and impact on farmers and residents.
Speaking at a discussion programme titled "Musi River Rejuvenation - Facts" held at a private hotel on Raj Bhavan Road, State BJP President N Ramachander Rao said that while river cleaning is essential, it should not come at the cost of poor and middle-class families.
He stressed that the Musi is not confined to Hyderabad but flows across multiple districts, supporting thousands of farmers. Increasing pollution, he noted, is already posing risks to agriculture and public health, making comprehensive river purification necessary.
