Chandigarh, Dec. 2 -- The Punjab BJP on Monday rejected suggestions made by former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh that the party would require the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to return to power in the state. Senior BJP leader and working president Ashwani Sharma said the party's strategy remains unchanged: a full-scale contest on all 117 assembly seats.

Sharma clarified that Amarinder Singh's remarks given during a recent podcast were his "individual assessment," not the party's position. According to him, the BJP has been expanding its organisational footprint across Punjab and is approaching the 2027 elections with a statewide mobilisation plan.
