Davanagere, April 1 -- Former Chief Minister and sitting MP Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday appealed to voters to oust the "corrupt government" and bring back the BJP to power by voting wisely, asserting that the ongoing by-election has only temporarily paused a broader political battle that will intensify in the state in May.
Addressing a meeting of Arya Vaishya community leaders held at Sri Vasavi Kalyana Mantapa here in connection with the by-election, Bommai campaigned for BJP candidate Srinivasa Dasakariyappa and expressed confidence in the party's prospects.
