Bengaluru, May 5 -- Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly R. Ashok on Tuesday alleged that the INDIA bloc is facing "serious internal contradictions" and accused the Congress of betraying its allies and lacking political consistency.

Speaking to the media after submitting a memorandum to the Governor along with former minister Araga Jnanendra and Shrirangapattana MLA-elect DN Jeevaraj, Ashok said the opposition alliance is not based on ideology but on political convenience and shifting interests.

He claimed that recent political developments, including evolving equations in Tamil Nadu, reflect instability within the Congress-led alliance and expose differences among its partners.
