Hyderabad, March 12 -- BJP Telangana President N Ramchandra Rao has accused the Congress government in the state of failing to release farmer bharosa funds on time, alleging that the delay is pushing farmers into debt.

In an open letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Ramchandra Rao said farmers were facing serious difficulties due to the lack of farmer bharosa (support) for the Yasangi crop season. He criticised the government for not fulfilling its promise to increase farmer bharosa to Rs 15,000 and instead of limiting it to Rs 12,000.

He also expressed concern that crops were drying up due to lack of water supply from irrigation projects and canals, forcing many farmers into financial distress.
