Bhubaneswar, April 30 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday urged the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to address the escalating incidents of child sexual abuse and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
In a memorandum submitted to the Odisha Human Rights Commission, the party expressed grave concern and demanded immediate action regarding the alarming rise in cases of child sexual abuse, particularly in Ganjam district, and the overall worsening law and order situation in Odisha.
The BJD cited the recent heinous rape and murder of a 4-year-old girl in Khallingi village, Sanakhemundi block, Ganjam district, which has deeply shocked and disturbed the people of the state.
