Bhubaneswar, March 16 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has expressed deep concern over the deaths of two people caused by a recent tornado in Odisha and has demanded an ex-gratia compensation of Rs.25 lakh for the families of the deceased.

A delegation led by Sudam Marandi, a member of the Political Affairs Committee of BJD, visited the tornado-affected villages in Karanjia where the disaster struck. The tornado claimed two lives and left 41 people seriously injured.

The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Tato Hospital and Karanjia Hospital.
