Bhubaneswar, Feb. 6 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday sharply criticized the Odisha government for its handling of the Mahanadi water dispute, accusing the ruling BJP of indecision and failure to take concrete steps to resolve the issue.
Addressing reporters, senior BJD leaders Prasanna Acharya and Debi Prasad Mishra alleged that while Odisha struggles with water scarcity, neighboring Chhattisgarh has constructed multiple check dams and sand barrages over the past 19 months, allegedly blocking water and supplying it to industrial establishments.
