Bhubaneswar, March 14 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has strongly criticised the Odisha Government for failing to include Nandala, the birthplace of renowned poet Mayadhar Mansingh, in the state's recently announced list of Heritage Villages.
In a statement issued in Bhubaneswar, BJD vice president and former minister Sanjaya Das Burma said the state's Culture Department had declared the native villages of 25 eminent Odia personalities as Heritage Villages.
However, the omission of Nandala-birthplace of Padma Shri awardee Mayadhar Mansingh-has raised serious concerns.
Burma demanded that the government immediately rectify the decision and include Nandala in the prestigious list.
