Chandigarh, Feb. 24 -- Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia appeared before the Chandigarh district court on Tuesday in a 2021 case involving a violent clash with the union Territory police.
Majithia's appearance followed a directive from the court after he failed to attend the scheduled hearing on Monday, citing an urgent party meeting. While the court granted a one-day exemption previously, it had mandated his physical presence for today's proceedings. The court has now slated the next hearing for March 5.
