Patna, May 9 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation today termed the incident of hundreds of children falling ill after consuming mid-day meals in schools of Mahishi block in Bihar's Saharsa district as "shameful", demanding a high-level inquiry and immediate arrest of the NGO operators allegedly responsible.
Party state secretary Kunal said in a statement on Friday that reports of the remains of poisonous snakes being found in the food pointed to a horrifying case of serious negligence. He said playing with the lives of schoolchildren in such a manner was unacceptable under any circumstances.
