Patna, March 29 -- In a major push to expand access to higher education, the Bihar government has initiated preparations to establish new degree colleges in 360 blocks across the state where no such institutions currently exist.
Official source said here on Sunday that the Education Department has been directed to ensure that these colleges become operational from the current academic session. The move is aimed at providing students in rural and remote areas the opportunity to pursue graduation within their own blocks, reducing the need to migrate to cities for higher studies.
