Patna, Feb. 5 -- Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday accused the Nitish Kumar-led state government of making false claims about development and asserting that Bihar's condition today is no better than it was in 1960.

He urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to approach the Centre and demand special category status for the state, assuring him of full Opposition support.

Referring to the government's claims of achievements during the Governor's address, Tejashwi said, "Bihar stands today where it stood in 1960."Questioning the ruling party's narrative of development, he said if Bihar was indeed progressing, the government should name even one sector in which the state ranked number one.
