Patna, Jan. 31 -- The Bihar government on Saturday recommended a CBI inquiry into the rape and murder of a NEET aspirant, amid growing controversy over the fairness of the investigation being conducted by the state police.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced the decision, saying the move was aimed at ensuring a transparent and impartial probe so that the victim's family receives justice.
He said the family members of the deceased had met the Director General of Police on Friday and were briefed about the progress of the investigation by the Bihar Police. However, they remained dissatisfied with the findings, prompting the state government to recommend a CBI inquiry.
