Patna, Feb. 11 -- Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar on Wednesday asked the Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar to ensure that identity cards are issued to all "Jeevika Didis," members of rural women Self Help Groups, across the state.
The Speaker gave the direction during a reply by Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar to a short-notice question raised by Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) MLA Snehlata in the state assembly.
While replying to the question, the minister said that matters such as dress code or identification of Jeevika Didis are handled by their respective community organisations. He added that their safety was not a major concern and that they could dial 112 to seek police assistance in case of any difficulty....
