Patna, March 5 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday transferred Rs 1200 crore as the first instalment to three lakh rural families under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana.
Transferring the amount here, Kumar instructed the authorities to properly execute the Centre's scheme for benefit of the people. He said that the second and third installment would be distributed within 100 days.
Through presentation, Rural Development Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh apprised the Chief Minister that a target of Rs 7,90,648 for Bihar under the scheme has been fixed for the financial year 2024-25.
He said that the centre would meet the 60% of the cost of the scheme and the state matching share would be 40%.
