Lucknow, Feb. 20 -- The Bharat-Nepal Maitri Mahotsava 2026 is currently underway across eight districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, celebrating the shared cultural and civilisational ties between India and Nepal.
The festival, which began on February 16 and will continue till February 28, has drawn strong public participation across the Purvanchal and Terai belt.
Folk performances from both countries have become the highlight of the Mahotsava. Traditional presentations such as 'Jhagad' tribal dance, 'Kumari' dance, 'Faruwahi' folk dance and 'Badhawa' dance have resonated strongly with audiences, reflecting the deep-rooted cultural continuity between communities on both sides of the border.
