Betis signs Deossa, Aug. 5 -- La Liga side Real Betis has announced an agreement with Mexican club Monterrey to sign Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa.

Deossa is expected to sign a contract through June 2030 for a fee of about 13 million euros (15 million U.S. dollars).

The 25-year-old impressed at the recent FIFA Club World Cup, prompting Betis to move quickly for the left-footed midfielder, known for his long-range shooting.

He is expected to help fill the gap left by U.S. international Johnny Cardoso, who joined Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, although Deossa offers a different style in midfield.
