Kolkata, July 3 -- Despite facing cyclone Dana and flooding, West Bengal has achieved a historic milestone in agricultural production with some 256.53 lakh metric ton of paddy in 2024-2025, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today.
Banerjee said the state has achieved a historic milestone in agricultural production in 2024-25 as the farmers produced 256.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, the highest ever recorded in any year.
"This reaffirms Bengal's position as the leading paddy producing state in the country," Banerjee said.
