Kolkata, April 16 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has the highest number of crorepati candidates in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls slated fot April 23, stated a report released by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Thursday.
The phase 1 of the Bengal elections will have 1478 candidates contesting from 152 constituencies.
According to the report. 106 candidates from the Trinamool Congress have moveable and immoveable assets amounting to more than Rs 1 crore.
In the first phase. the TMC has fielded 148 candidates and the percentage of crorepati candidatesmstands at 72 per cent of the total number of contestants.
