Nagpur, Jan. 11 -- Maharashtra BJP leader and state Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Sunday slammed the Congress for approaching the State Election Commission with a request to postpone payments under the Ladki Bahin Yojana in view of the forthcoming municipal corporation elections.

Speaking to reporters, Bawankule asserted that the welfare scheme, launched in 2024, does not violate the Model Code of Conduct, which has come into force ahead of the January 15 municipal corporation polls.
