Bareilly, Oct. 1 -- The Bareilly Police continue their crackdown on those involved in the recent violence that broke out in the district on September 26.

In a major development, police have arrested an accused, Tazim, after an encounter on Tuesday afternoon. Tazim was reportedly involved in firing on the police during the violent clashes and is already facing multiple charges related to cow slaughter and smuggling.

According to police sources, Tazim, aged 28, a resident of Qazi Tola under Baradari police station, was injured during the encounter on Tuesday afternoon. Acting on a tip-off from an informant, police received information that a suspect involved in the firing during the September violence was spotted near Shyamganj bridge.
