Barabanki, Jan. 21 -- Panic gripped Azad Nagar locality under the City Kotwali area of Barabanki after a tent and grocery businessman allegedly shot himself with his licensed pistol. The deceased has been identified as Naveen Jaiswal (50), police said on Wednesday.
According to family members, the incident occurred around 7:30 am on Wednesday when the household members were busy with their daily chores. Suddenly, a gunshot was heard from Naveen's room. Rushing inside, family members found him with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was immediately taken to Hind Medical College on Lucknow Road, where doctors declared him dead.
