New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- Delhi Police have busted a credit card fraud racket involving a fake banking mobile application, which led to the arrest of four accused in a case of online cheating and digital theft, an official said on Tuesday.

According to the police, an FIR in this case was registered on February 4 under Sections 318(4) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The case came to light when Sonam Chauhan, a resident of Shahdara's Krishna Nagar, alleged that she was cheated of Rs 75,694 from her Kotak Mahindra Bank credit card.

As per the cops, an unknown caller impersonating a Kotak Mahindra Bank representative contacted her on the pretext of enhancing her credit card limit and sent a malicious APK file via WhatsApp.
