Dhaka, Dec. 29 -- Nomination papers on behalf of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman, and his mother, party chairperson and former PM Khaleda Zia, were submitted on Monday for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections, amid the expiring deadline to contest the polls.

For Tarique Rahman, nomination was filed from two constituencies - Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6 (Sadar). His nomination papers for the Dhaka-17 seat were filed at around 12 noon at the office of the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner in Segunbagicha, reports state media.

The documents on Rahman's behalf were submitted by Abdus Salam, advisor to the BNP chairperson. He was accompanied by Professor Dr Farhad Halim Donar, chief advisor of the Doctors A...
