Dhaka, Jan. 8 -- Bangladesh has temporarily shut the visa section of three of its missions in India on security grounds, Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain said today.

"What I have done is that I have asked our three missions to keep their visa sections closed for the time being. It's a security issue," Touhid Hossain told reporters at the foreign ministry.

While he did not name the missions, according to UNB, Bangladesh has shut the visa sections of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, the Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, and the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.

The visa sections at the Bangladesh missions in Chennai and Mumbai remain operational.
