Dhaka, Aug. 9 -- Bangladesh's Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin has said that the country's national polls will be held in the first half of February next year, though he did not specify a date.

Speaking to local media at the Rangpur Divisional Commissioner's Office, the CEC said that the Election Commission is making every effort to organise the national elections in a free, fair, and transparent manner, reports Business Standard BD.

"We will do whatever is necessary to hold a fair, credible, acceptable election. No chaos will be allowed," he added.
