Dhaka, Sept. 17 -- Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Mohammed Yunus has reaffirmed the interim government's commitment to hold the general elections in February 2026, promising that the polls will be "free, fair, transparent and festive."Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), led by Mounir Satouri, at the State Guest House Jamuna, Yunus said the polls would take place in the first half of February, just before Ramadan, in line with the timeline already announced by the interim government, reports Business Standard BD.
