Dhaka, May 9 -- Amid growing demands by a key student's body and Islamic groups for a ban on the Awami League, Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Mohammed Yunus asked for patience as the interim government seriously deliberates banning the party of ex-PM Sheikh Hasina over allegations of authoritarianism and criminal activities.
According to a statement posted on the interim government's verified Facebook page, the government has already established communication with political parties and will reach a swift decision through discussions with them.
