Hyderabad, July 15 -- Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has stirred a fresh political controversy by demanding the immediate removal of Muslims from the Backward Classes (BC) reservation list in Telangana.

Alleging a "deep conspiracy" behind the state's implementation of BC quotas, he warned that if Muslims are not excluded, a statewide agitation would be launched.

Speaking to the media during a bicycle distribution event in Sircilla district, Bandi Sanjay accused the Congress government of misleading the public. He claimed that although the government speaks of implementing 42 per cent reservation for BCs, 10 per cent of it is being allotted to Muslims, effectively reducing the BC share to just 32 per cent.
