Banda, Feb. 20 -- A special POCSO court in Banda on Friday sentenced a husband and wife to death for sexually abusing more than 50 minor children and selling explicit videos on the dark web to international networks.
The convicts, Rambhavan (55), a Junior Engineer in the Irrigation Department posted in Chitrakoot, and his wife Durgavati (50), were found guilty on February 18. Delivering the verdict, POCSO Court Judge Pradeep Kumar Mishra ordered that the couple be "hanged till death."The case was registered on October 31, 2020, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after receiving inputs via Interpol about the circulation of child sexual abuse material linked to three mobile numbers.
