Hamirpur, Oct. 18 -- In order to prevent fire incidents during the Diwali, a complete ban has been imposed on the storage and sale of firecrackers in crowded markets across the district.

Issuing an order in this regard, District Magistrate Amarjeet Singh has banned the storage and sale of firecrackers in the main markets of Hamirpur, Nadaun, Sujanpur, Bhoranj, Bhota, Barsar, Jahu, Bhareri, Galore, and Bijhari.

He stated that designated locations for the storage and sale of firecrackers have already been established in the main markets of all subdivisions of the district. All shopkeepers in these areas should set up their shops only at these locations. The concerned SDM can also designate locations for the sale of firecrackers.
