Ranchi, Feb. 8 -- Leader of Opposition and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the state government over pollution allegedly caused by the BFCL plant in Ramgarh, seeking answers from the Chief Minister Hemant Soren and concerned officials.

Marandi said pollution emanating from the Bihar Foundry and Casting Limited (BFCL) plant in Ramgarh has turned into a serious public health crisis for local residents. The plant is engaged in the production of ingots (solid iron/steel moulds), but dense and toxic smoke released during the manufacturing process is making it difficult for people in nearby areas to breathe.
