Dhaka, Nov. 27 -- Bangladesh's former ruling party, Awami League, on Thursday denounced the International Crimes Tribunal's corruption verdict against ex-PM Sheikh Hasina, after the tribunal condemned her to 21 years in prison, over allegations of being complicit in three graft cases.

Further deepening the legal and political turmoil surrounding the ousted leader, the ruling comes less than a week after the special domestic tribunal had sentenced the former premier to death, accusing her of committing crimes against humanity tied to last year's July uprising.
