Madrid, Jan. 16 -- Atletico Madrid announced that winger Giuliano Simeone has extended his contract with the club through June 2030.
The 23-year-old, whose father is Atletico coach Diego Simeone, has impressed with his work rate and pace since returning from a loan spell at Deportivo Alaves in the summer of 2024.
The younger Simeone has made 78 first-team appearances for Atletico, including 77 since his return, scoring eight goals. He has logged 2,069 minutes in all competitions this season.
Simeone joined Atletico in 2019 and scored 29 goals in 51 matches for the club's B team before enjoying a productive loan spell with second-division Zaragoza. His first season in the top flight with Alaves was cut short after he suffered a broken leg...
