New Delhi, March 7 -- Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi on Friday wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta demanding the implementation of Rs 2,500 monthly aid to eligible women under the Mahila Samriddhi Scheme, as promised by the BJP before the Assembly election.
In a letter to Gupta, Atishi said, "I am writing this letter to you on behalf of lakhs of mothers and sisters of Delhi and I want to remind you that on January 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the mothers and sisters of Delhi that after the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Delhi, the scheme of giving Rs 2500 per month will be passed in the first cabinet meeting and women will be given Rs 2500 per month.''
