Guwahati, Oct. 29 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that the police were asked to file a case of sedition against senior Congress leaders in Sribhumi district who had reportedly sung Bangladesh's national anthem during a party meeting in the district.
A video recently went viral showing senior Congress leaders singing "Amar Sonar Bangla" on October 27 during a Congress Seva Dal meeting at Indira Bhavan, the party's district office in Sribhumi.
Several Congress leader including poet Vidhu Bhushan Das was among others in the video who were seen rendering a few lines from "Amar Sonar Bangla", a song penned by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, who also wrote India's national anthem, 'Jana Gana Mana'.
