Guwahati, Feb. 18 -- Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said only 500 appeals have been received after the recent exercise of Special Revision (SR) of electoral rolls in Asaam.
While addressing a media briefing here yesterday, he said that the statistics of just 500 appeals out of a total of 2.5 crore electorates examplifies the success of the Special Revision exercise in Assam.
The Chief Election Commissioner addressed the media after winding up a two day visit to the poll-bound state since February 16. He was accompanied by election commissioners Dr. SS Sandhu and Vivek Joshi and other senior officials of the ECI.
