Guwahati, Sept. 20 -- The mortal remains of singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg are likely to reach Guwahati this evening.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the remains will be flown from Singapore to Delhi and then to Guwahati.
The State government has decided to organise a public tribute at the Sarusojai stadium, where Garg's body will be kept for a day to allow people to pay their respects.
"After that the family will decide if they want to bring the mortal remains to his home," said the chief minister. He also visited Garg's residence and met the grieving family, including his wife Garima Saikia Garg.
