Guwahati, Feb. 17 -- Though former Assam Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah is yet to make his stand clear on his resignation from the party, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday hinted that Borah is likely to join the BJP.

"I am going to meet him today (Tuesday) evening. He is the last Hindu leader in the Congress in Assam. He tried genuinely to save the Congress in Assam," said Sarma while showering praise on Bhupen Borah.

"I spoke to him today. I genuinely want him to join the BJP and we will make sure that he wins the forthcoming elections. I am going to Karbi Anglong now, upon my return I am going to meet him this evening," said the Assam Chief Minister while indicating that Borah is likely to join the BJP.
