Guwahati, Feb. 8 -- The Assam cabinet on Saturday decided to hand over the investigation of the case regarding Pakistani national Ali Tauqueer Sheikh to the union Ministry of Home Affairs.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this while addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting and added that the government will request the MHA for further investigation of the case by any of the central agencies like the CBI or the NIA.
He said the state government has instituted an SIT to inquire into the alleged anti-India conspiracy of Ali Tauqueer Sheikh in connivance with a British citizen, Elizabeth Coulbarn Gogoi.
