Dehradun, Feb. 16 -- Uttarakhand's Tehri Lake, second highest dam in Asia, will be developed as a global tourism destination, a top state government official said here on Monday.
As part of the project, a ring road encircling the lake will be the lifeline of the lake development master plan to be readied by the tourism department.
Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan said the state tourism department will hammer out a comprehensive and effective master plan to develop Tehri Lake into a global tourist destination.
A decision as to this was taken following a review meeting of tourism development in the Tehri Lake area and other parts of the state.
