Ranchi, Jan. 29 -- Asia's largest lac plantation, spread across 421 acres in Kundri village of Lesliganj block in Jharkhand's Palamu district, is set to be revived following a fresh initiative by the state government.
The plantation hosts nearly 90,000 palash trees and is managed by the Forest Department, while lac production is entrusted to the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS).
Lac production at the site had come to a halt after the Covid-19 pandemic, despite an agreement signed in 2019-20 between JSLPS and the Forest Department.
