Bengaluru, March 24 -- Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly R Ashoka on Tuesday stirred controversy in the House by displaying a purported PhonePe transaction record, alleging bribery through an e-account linked to government dealings.

Raising the issue during proceedings, Ashoka claimed that digital payment platforms were being misused to route illegal gratification, bypassing traditional cash-based scrutiny. He cited a specific transaction record on PhonePe to argue that money was being transferred under suspicious circumstances, hinting at a larger pattern of corruption involving electronic accounts.
