Itanagar, Oct. 26 -- The Yak Mela 3.0 was successfully held today at Pangkangteng Tso (PTSO), Tawang, celebrating the deep cultural and economic ties between the Brokpa nomadic community and their yaks.
The event was inaugurated by Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo and Tawang Brigade Commander, Brigadier Bhupal Singh in the presence of Zilla Parishad Chairperson Leki Gombu, Abbot of Jamyang Choekorling Ven Dobley Rinpoche, and other dignitaries.
Organized by the Monyul Society (NGO), in collaboration with the Tawang Brigade of the Indian Army and the District Administration, the mela was supported by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
