Itanagar, Jan. 14 -- Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended his warm greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasions of Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu and Pongal, conveying his best wishes for peace, harmony, joy and prosperity.
In his message on Makar Sankranti, the Governor said the festival marks the beginning of the sacred Uttarayana, a period revered in spiritual tradition. He noted that devotees offer prayers to the Sun God and take holy dips in sacred rivers such as the Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri and the holy Lohit River, seeking purification and well-being.
