Srinagar, Feb. 20 -- The Chinar Open Winter Games 2026, a flagship initiative of the Indian Army, concluded on Friday at the snow-covered slopes of Gulmarg, drawing record participation from across Kashmir.
Organised under the aegis of the Army's Baramulla based Dagger Division of the Chinar Corps, the event witnessed 660 participants - including 166 girls and 494 boys - competing in eight disciplines, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for winter sport and increasing participation of young women in the region.
Srinagar-based defence spokesman said the event featured an exhilarating line-up of winter sports competitions, ranging from high adrenaline skiing races and thrilling snowboarding events to graceful skating performances.
